Residents of Monticello can take
pride in knowing their home sits on prestigious land
formerly owned by H.W. Hoover, founder of The Hoover Company.
Prior to becoming the famous "Hoover Farm," Monticello
was the summer home of Canton Philanthropist Edward A. Langenbach.
Langenbach pioneered the technology to make light weight
steel which allowed Henry Ford to produce his famous Model
T automobile. During its day, the farm had a five-hole golf
course, stables, two trout ponds and a tennis court. The
original barn still stands today and has been transformed
into a recreation facility, appropriately named "The
Barn". |

The newly renovated
Barn is the cornerstone of the recreation area. Great care
has been taken to preserve the special features of this
120-year-old barn. It includes a spacious party room, kitchen,
fitness center, and game room in the loft. Home owners can
use this charming facility for meetings, parties, fitness
and youth activities.
